The problem

Startups and growing teams were tracking attendance through self-reported spreadsheets and honor-system check-ins — easy to fake, expensive to audit, and unworkable once headcount spread across more than one site.

The solution

Replaced it with GPS-verified check-in/check-out: location is captured at the moment of punch, role-based dashboards give managers a live read on who's on-site right now, and every record is timestamped and tamper-resistant — no more reconciling attendance by hand at payroll time.

Architecture

Next.js App Router frontend with Firebase Auth for identity, Firestore for real-time attendance records, and Cloudflare R2 for asset storage — chosen to keep infra costs low while staying real-time at small-to-mid team scale.
